About Father Goodrich

Shorter Biography: Father Kevin Goodrich OP PhD is a Dominican brother and priest. He serves as the pastor of Christ Episcopal Church in Westerly, Rhode Island. He is known for his humor, preaching, and ability to relate faith to daily life. While Anglican, his teaching is ecumenical, taking a generous approach to differences between Christian denominations and traditions.

Longer Biography: The Reverend Doctor Kevin Goodrich, O.P.A., is a Dominican tertiary and priest. He serves as the Rector of Christ Episcopal Church in Westerly, Rhode Island. The Anglican Order of Preachers — The Dominicans — are an order in The Episcopal Church and worldwide Anglican Communion. Father Goodrich is known for his sense of humor, engaging preaching style, and ability to relate spiritual concepts to the everyday challenges of life. He has served congregations in rural, suburban, and urban settings in the United States and Canada.

As an itinerant preacher and teacher, he has ministered across the western world (United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia, & New Zealand). He is a student of the writings of the English mystics, including Julian of Norwich. He is inspired by the stories of the Celtic saints, such as Aidan of Lindisfarne. As a child, Father Goodrich had a dream that birthed a hunger to know God. His wider work engages topics ranging from mysticism, mission, and ministry to technology. Fr. Goodrich’s ministry intentionally engages skeptics, seekers, and believers.

He holds degrees in philosophy, literature, counseling, and divinity, as well as two doctorates, one in spirituality (DMin), one in theology (PhD). Father Goodrich is a trained spiritual director and theologian. He’s taught at Catholic and Protestant universities, including at the seminary level. He’s led retreats and presented at academic conferences. He’s the author of several books, including Walter Hilton and The English Mystical Tradition, Cell Phone Spirituality, and Mystic Bonfires.  For fun he enjoys a good laugh, a quiet hiking trail, and the music of Dean Martin.
