Shorter Biography

Father Kevin Goodrich, O.P., is a traveling preacher, spirituality teacher and pastor. Inspired by the monastics and mystics and committed to renewal of the Church in the West, he teaches from an ecumenical perspective. Fr. Goodrich is a member of the Anglican Dominicans (Order of Preachers).  

As a child, he had a dream that birthed a hunger to know God, not as a concept, but as a living reality. This hunger led him to explore and experiment with many spiritual traditions before he encountered the Christian mystics and monastics, who he credits for his Christian commitment.

As part of his commitment to the renewal of the spiritual life in the Western world, he regularly preaches and teaches in churches across North America (as well as less regularly in the United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia, and New Zealand).

Father Goodrich is known for his sense of humor, engaging preaching style, and ability to relate spiritual concepts to the challenges of everyday life. Besides a good laugh, he enjoys the outdoors and the music of Dean Martin.

Longer Biography

The Rev. Dr. Kevin Goodrich, O.P., is an Anglican Dominican priest, preacher and theologian. His focus is the renewal of the spiritual life in individuals, families, and churches in the Western world. A renewal of loving God and neighbor, leading to transformed lives and communities.

As a child, he had a dream that birthed a hunger to know God, not as a concept, but as a living reality. This hunger led him to explore and experiment with many spiritual traditions before he encountered the Christian mystics and monastics, who he credits for his Christian commitment.

A hunger for God continues to energize Father Goodrich as a student and teacher of spirituality, living, and ministry. His commitment to vital Christianity in the Western world has led him to develop interests in spirituality, education, evangelism, church vitality, and leadership.    

While Episcopalian, Father Goodrich’s teaching is ecumenical. He embraces a respectful and generous approach to differences between and within the various Christian denominations. He stresses commonalities across churches, particularly emphasizing the centrality of Jesus Christ.

The mystics and monastics continue to inform his teaching and way of life, especially as found within the Dominican, English, and Celtic traditions. He believes these traditions offer rich resources for the renewal of the spiritual life of individuals and churches today.

He shares these traditions with people all over the world online. As part of his commitment to the renewal of the spiritual life, he regularly preaches and teaches in churches across North America (as well as less regularly in the United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia, and New Zealand).

Father Goodrich has served as an adjunct professor at the undergraduate and graduate levels, at Catholic and Protestant universities. The encouragement, training and formation of lay and ordained leaders, is a regular part of his ministry.

He holds degrees in philosophy, divinity, counseling, literature and, the Doctor of Ministry degree in Ascetical Theology (Christian Spirituality), from Nashotah House Theological Seminary, Nashotah, Wisconsin.

He is the author of several articles, as well as the books, Cell Phone Spirituality: What your cell phone can teach you about life and God and Plugging into God’s Story: A Practical Introduction to Reading and Understanding the Bible.

Father Goodrich’s pastoral work has included service to Lutheran and Episcopal churches in a variety of roles, in the United States and Canada. He serves as a parish priest, keeping his wider ministry grounded in the everyday challenges of the lives of people and churches.
